On Saturday, January 13th ten students from White Knoll High School joined nine other local high schools to pack 2,000 food boxes for the inaugural Hudson’s Heroes Tackle Hunger event. This event was held at the Ellison Building at the State Fairgrounds and was sponsored by the Jim Hudson Automotive Group, teaming up with Harvest Hope Food Bank and Souper Bowl of Caring. Keith Hudson said the group hopes to make this an annual event, cutting down on the number of people in the Midlands (15 percent, according to Harvest Hope), who do not always know where their next meal will come from. After the event the group of students brought back over 200 boxes that will help fill our districts food pantry.
