White Knoll High recognized four former White Knoll Athletes and one former White Knoll Coach who were selected to be in the Inaugural White Knoll Athletic Hall of Fame. The formal induction will take place February 9th at the White Knoll Athletic Gala.
The Hall of Famers are as follows:
David “Lumpy” Anderson – a 2000-2005 4-time varsity letterman in baseball as well as a 3-time all-state player in 2003,04, and 05, David went on to become an All American at Coastal Carolina and a Big South Player of the year in 2009.
Stevie Evans – a 2000-2005, 4-time letterman in basketball, an all-state player in 2005, a North/South player and the first 1000 point scorer in school history, Stevie went on to be a basketball scholarship recipient for Coker College.
Kerry Donovan Allen – a 2000-2004,4 year letterman in track and tennis, 4-time all-region player and team MVP in tennis at number 1 singles, Kerry was the 1st female in school history to receive an athletic scholarship. She attended USC Aiken.
Ivan Bumgarner – a 2000 Team MVP, North/South all-star and finalist for Mr. Football in setting a school record for 220 tackles as well as a team MVP for baseball, he was the first captain of the football and baseball teams. He attended Charleston Southern University.
Coach Jonny Thompson – Head Baseball Coach from 2000-2011, Coach Thompson was a 6 – time region Coach of the year recipient. During his time coaching at White Knoll he led his teams to 5 region championships, 6 District championships and a 2010 4A State Championship. He finished his coaching career having 211 career wins and being named the 2010 4A Coach of the Year.
We congratulate these outstanding athletes and Coach Thompson and look forward to their formal induction into the White Knoll Athletic Hall of Fame on February 9th at the Gala.
