WKHS Chorus goes to New York

These students traveled to New York City to perform at both St. John the Divine and Carnegie Hall. While there, they were able to experience many of New York’s sights, including the One World Trade Center, Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and more, creating special memories that will last a lifetime.

Solidworks Recognition Article

Students from the Mechanical Design 2 class at White Knoll High School were recently given the opportunity to take the Certified Solidworks Associate (CSWA) exam from Dassault Systems. This is an industry recognized certification that recognizes students ability to use Solidworks software with a focus on 3D modeling, design concepts and sustainability during the three hour test.

The following students achieved recognition from Dassault for taking and passing the CWSA Exam and becoming Certified Solidworks Associates. This recognition includes their name being added to the national CWSA Registry. Our successful students are: (L-R) Michael Bush (Perfect score), Josh Cawley, Jacob Ransone, Brandon Ballentine, Hayden Hughes, Collin Smith and Delaney Livingston.

Lexington District One held the district’s first Military Signing Day on Monday, May 20, at River Bluff High School.

Supported by family, friends and recruiters, students from Gilbert, Lexington, Pelion, River Bluff and White Knoll high schools signed a letter of intent stating their desire to join a branch of military service upon graduation.

The signees also heard guest speaker Major General Van McCarty, the 29th Adjutant General for South Carolina.

Once these students turn their tassels at commencement, they begin training for a dynamic new chapter, making excellent use of their skills and education, within the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force or South Carolina Army National Guard.
